International Day of Happiness

On the 20th March of every year, the entire world is celebrating Happiness Day.
With this occasion, I would like to wish you to want to be happy.

International Day of Happiness: 20 March of every year

Yes, "to want" because happiness is a choice.

Happiness doesn't come naturally. It doesn't knock on your door. It doesn't fall from the sky or from a tree. No. Happiness has to be learned. The same way we learn to walk, to drive, to ride a bike, to read, to write and so on.
Happiness comes from within.
We all have the potential and the capacity to be happy, but, more often than not, we chose not to be (happy).

Every morning we have the opportunity to choose how to feel and what to do.
As soon as we open our eyes, we shouldn't think and ask ourselves how to fell. We shouldn't ponder. We should decide on the spot to be happy.
If we have this choice and this right, why shouldn't we?

Do you know why?
Because it's difficult.
Most of us think that happy people have an easy life.
It isn't true.
We all have issues, we all have worries, we all carry heavy burdens on our shoulders.
Nothing comes easily for any of us (generally).

If you don't believe me, ask yourself why some people pull their hair out when they lose a child, a parent, and some seem calm?
These calm people are as overwhelmed by pain as those who pull their hair out, yet they don't seem to.

It's not the immensity of a tragedy that makes us kneel, is the way we react in front of it.

I wouldn't dream of saying that we should laugh when someone leaves this world, what I say is to accept the irreversible and do whatever we can to give solace to those who suffer more.

If we consume all our energies crying over spilled milk, we'll not be able to stop another bottle of milk to fell on the floor.
We should focus on solutions, not on the problem.
But it's easier said than done. I know. I know from own experience.
However, is doable.
If we want to be happy, we can.
But it requires a strong will and desire.
That's why most people are sad. It's easier.
We complain about everything - it comes effortless - but we don't look for solutions.

To be happy, or to be sad? This is the question.
You are the problem and the solution.

Every morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most.
